Pile: Low with patina and other age-related wear; 2 small areas with holes the size of a quarter or so each and some worn areas that are threadbare; this piece is priced accordingly, however we can re-weave those holes and tidy up/secure the worn areas if you want; to re-weave them it'll be around $500-700 for both, or we can patch them for about half of that. We can secure those worn areas just so they don't unravel for a couple hundred dollars as well. We can secure both sides of the fringe for you as well which my grandfather also does by hand; that'll be around $200 or so each side ($400 total). So, all in all, to bring this piece back up to speed; you're looking at 1000-1500 or so. Some people like rugs worn and originally untouched, and some can hide the worn or distressed areas under a sofa or bed etc so they'd rather get the rug for cheaper - that's why we didn't do the work to this right away. About: This rug is truly a classical antique rug. When you think of a high-end piece that captures the essence of these city rugs, mixed with the high-quality materials used in terms of dyes and wool as well as workmanship, you get pieces like this. The wool used is hand-spun lamb wool and the quality of the weave is how you get the crispness and clarity of the lovely design. Butter yellows, wheat, teals, blue-green, camel, mocha, and this deep berry-magenta color that fills most of the rug. Beautiful floral motifs, willow tree motifs, whimsical branch, and airy stylized tulip and daisy-inspired motifs as well. Really a beautiful piece with some genuine wear and a threadbare spot and two small holes at one corner. Perfect for a space with furniture like a living room, dining room, bedroom, office, or even high-end retail space!

Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.
