SUPERB ANCIENT Rare Caucasian Runner | DATED C. | Gorgeous Look, Worn to Perfection | 3.10 x 7.3
Name: ANCIENT DATED Rare Caucasian Runner | Gorgeous Look, Worn to Perfection,
Size: 3.10 x 7.3
Age: Antique, Dated C.
Pile: Low/Med pile with lots of age related patina and wear. Great look for its age and we can tidy up the edges a bit to keep it from unraveling but keep that ancient look and fill in that hole with wool foundation but make no mistake - this is OLD AND GORGEOUS.
About: This is the type of piece you'd find in Picasso's studio, the library in a castle in Scotland, the living room piece in a Fashion moguls villa in Italy, or the foyer or kitchen piece in an 1880's Farmhouse in America's East-coast. It is SO ARTISTIC. Without question you are buying a piece full of history, story, and beauty. The aesthetic on this doesn't get any better- quad medallions all carry their own personality, half of them worn and the others just showing some of their muted century old dyes. The negative space allows freedom for the eyes to roam while encountering unique nomadic motifs on your travels including guard dogs to keep you safe. The border is simple and beautiful, the blue field has complex depth of indigo and navy hues, and the soft glacier blue really adds some coolness to an otherwise rich, deep and moody piece. The rust is the perfect shade of red, and lots of antique beige to elevate it all ever so slightly. REALLY amazing piece here, one of my personal favorites.
This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one in the world, no others are available.
Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.

We always recommend a high-quality custom cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding.
A note from us to you: Buying a rug is special; it's not just you finding the rug, but also the rug finding you. Think about the many coincidences that have to occur for you to find the rug of your dreams. Our rugs are woven by nomads in the villages and remote mountainous regions of the major rug weaving districts across the world. All of our rugs are genuinely old and one-of-a-kind. Like anything old and unique, they are filled with character, soul, and story. The story of a rug is something we think about a lot; who was the weaver(s)? Did they weave it for personal use, commerce, to gift, or trade? Who was the second owner, and the third!? Sometimes the little motifs and symbols in rugs can help tell the story, but we will never truly know - there's something beautiful about that. Alas, our joy is to curate these incredible pieces that speak to us, and to pass them along to their new owners to be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come; both continuing to add to the story of the rug, and to the story of the new owners.
