The lighting in these photos is a bit tricky; you will note the first overhead shot is a bit lighter and most of the others are a bit moodier and richer where the warm hues read a touch more berry. This rug can shift hues based on light and which way you're looking at it, but if you need more pics don't hesitate to reach out! All in all, you'll love this piece!
Name: MINT CONDITION PALACE SIZE Antique Persian Serapi-Heriz | All-Encompassing Piece with Rust, Walnut, Midnight Blue, Salmon-Rose, Denim
Size: 11.3 x 15.5
Age: Antique, C. 1920's or so
Pile: Low with subtle age-related patina, but really it is safe to call this piece in Nearly MINT CONDITION. There are subtle expert restorations that rug experts would have trouble finding. Unbelievable how this piece is this old and still in this good of shape.
About: If ever there was an almighty tribal antique rug that made all the other ones seem insignificant, it is, of course, the mystical and nomadic weavings of the Northwest Mountains of the epicenter of where the art of rug weaving originated. These pieces are highly sought after by rug collectors, rug enthusiasts, high-end interior designers, art and antique dealers, and those with an eye for the sublime. This piece has a combination of a few extremely unique characteristics. This piece is the epitome of tribal weaving with hard geometric motifs and lines that give it its boldness, yet designed masterfully leaving enough space around the vines to add some airiness and artistic aesthetic. The gorgeous medallion is filled with variations of soft and dark chocolate and mochas, with abrash of deep espresso throughout the border as well. Of course, the color palette adds to its beauty; rusty tones with heavenly-large brush strokes of pinky/coral abrash and the number of teals that pop through even with the sky blue and greens that make an appearance in this piece are just lovely. Very clean design, inviting colors, and true artistic design make this one of a kind. Oh, and of course, the size is something to note; it is beautifully large - oversized making it perfect for a larger grate room, living room, dining area, lobby, bedroom, and/or any other place that needs something to not only anchor the room, but to make everyone that walks in that room stop in their tracks. Given its age, this piece has some ancient repairs that I've tried to point out in the pics, but all in all, very responsibly done because whoever did them, understood that not only was it worth the time and energy to do, but it had to be done right. This is a gem.
This rug is truly one-of-a-kind, only one in the world - only one available.
Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.

We always recommend a high-quality custom cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding.
A note from us to you: Buying a rug is special; it's not just you finding the rug, but also the rug finding you. Think about the many coincidences that have to occur for you to find the rug of your dreams. Our rugs are woven by nomads in the villages and remote mountainous regions of the major rug weaving districts across the world. All of our rugs are genuinely old and one-of-a-kind. Like anything old and unique, they are filled with character, soul, and story. The story of a rug is something we think about a lot; who was the weaver(s)? Did they weave it for personal use, commerce, to gift, or trade? Who was the second owner, and the third!? Sometimes the little motifs and symbols in rugs can help tell the story, but we will never truly know - there's something beautiful about that. Alas, our joy is to curate these incredible pieces that speak to us, and to pass them along to their new owners to be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come; both continuing to add to the story of the rug, and to the story of the new owners.
